Companionship/Sit-in

Companionship

Many go for long periods of time without having a conversation with someone, which is why our companionship/sit-in services are so important. Through the companionship services, we aim to prevent overwhelming effects of loneliness and support you to gain the confidence you need to live a complete fulfilling life.

Why our companionship/sit-in care service?

Our Carers are trained to use life coaching approaches to help bring the best out of you. It’s important to have someone to rely on to do a few tasks here and there or who can be at the end of the phone for a chat. These are the small things that can make a positive difference to people’s lives. However, if you lose them through bereavement or any other reason, life can become lonely and a little more challenging. Having companionship/sit-in care can enhance your quality of life. We support you to get back on your feet and live the life you love once more.

How the service works

The package of companionship care can include almost anything that isn’t medical or personal care. Your unique package of companionship/sit-in support will be created just for you, and may involve:

There are a lot of issues or challenges which can often seem difficult to overcome. But a friendly and familiar face can take you out and about, support you around the house or even just sit and have a chat with a cup of tea and a piece of cake a couple of times a week to lift some weight from your shoulders.

Sometimes the things that you used to take for granted can be so difficult to achieve. Our specially trained staff can support you with shopping, dropping things to the post office and you can relax in the knowledge that your jobs will be done when you need them to be done.

Your Carer can support with physical activities like going out for a walk. If you attend social groups or a day centre, he or she can accompany you and offer support while you are there. They can even assist you on holiday, in the UK or abroad, to help you experience the most out of your time.

Getting from one point to another isn’t always that easy! That’s why our Carers are available to either drive you or accompany you on public transport to go wherever you need to go, be it a day out or social engagement.

VBS-Healthcare Carers will support with house work, meal preparation, cleaning and many more. We appreciate the fact that people feel most comfortable in their own homes, so our carers can provide the support you need while also being available to chat to.
